 །བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་ཆོས་གང་རྫོགས་པར་བགྱིས་ན་སེམས་ཅན་ཀྱི་་བསམ་པ་དང་སྤྱོད་པ་འཚོལ་བར་འགྱུར་བ་དང་།

1) What quality should bodhisattvas perfect so they can understand the minds and behaviors of beings? (Dzongsar Rinpoche DR: How should we understand others’ attitudes?)

 སངས་རྒྱས་རྣམས་ཀྱི་དགོངས་པའི་བཀའ་ལ་འཇུག་པར་འགྱུར་བ་དང་།

2)[What quality should bodhisattvas perfect so] they can correctly follow the words of the wisdom intent of the buddhas? (DR: Everyone hears the same thing differently.)

 ཕྱིན་ཅི་ལོག་ཏུ་སྟོན་པ་ལས་མི་སྟོན་པར་འགྱུར་བ་དང་།

3) [What quality should bodhisattvas perfect so] they can teach, and their teaching will never mislead? (DR: Whatever we say, even if true, it can mislead.)

སྒྲ་ཇི་ལྟ་བ་བཞིན་དུ་བདེན་པ་ཤེས་པ་ལ་རྗེས་སུ་འཇུག་པར་འགྱུར་བ་དང་།

4) [What quality should bodhisattvas perfect so] they can know the truth according to the exact terminology and follow accordingly? (DR: Oh, he didn’t mean that!)

ད་ལྟར་གྱི་སངས་རྒྱས་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ་སྒྲིབ་པ་མེད་པར་འགྱུར་བ་དང།

5) [What quality should bodhisattvas perfect so] their obscurations do not cause misapprehending present buddhas?

 འདི་ལྟ་སྟེ་སངས་རྒྱས་དང་འགྲོགས་པ་འཐོབ་ཅིང་མཐོང་བ་དང།  ཆོས་ཀྱིས་ངེས་པ་འཐོབ་པ་འགྱུར་བ་དང།

6) [What quality should bodhisattvas perfect so] they can see present buddhas, accompany them, and achieve certainty through their teachings?

 འཇིག་རྟེན་གྱི་ཆོས་ལ་ཡང་སྤྱོད་ལ་འཇིག་རྟེན་པས་ཀྱང་མི་གོས་པར་༏གྱུར་བ་དང་།

7) [What quality should bodhisattvas perfect so] they can engage in mundane life but not become worldly?

 སྙོམས་པར་འཇུག་པ་ལ་གནས་ཀྱང་དེ་དེར་སྐྱེ་བར་མི་འགྱུར་བ་དང་།

8) [What quality should bodhisattvas perfect so] they can abide in meditative absorptions but not experience their corresponding rebirths?

མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་པའི་ཆོས་ལ་སྤྱོད་ཀྱང་ཡོངས་སུ་མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་བར་མི་འགྱུར་བ་དང་།

9) [What quality should bodhisattvas perfect so] they can practice the Dharma that leads to nirvana but never pass into nirvana?

 སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་སྨོན་ལ་ཡོངས་སུ་རྫོགས་པར་མི་བགྱིས་པར་ཉན་ཐོས་དང། རང་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་ཆོས་ལ་སྤྱོད་ཀྱང་ཐེག་པ་དེ་དག་གིས་

ངེས་པར་མི་འབྱུང་བ་འགྱུར་ན་དང།

10) [What quality should bodhisattvas perfect so] they can practice the Dharma conduct of Listeners and Self-Realized Ones, (which is not aimed at full and complete buddhahood), but not have these vehicles become convincing?

 སངས་རྒྱས་རྗེས་སུ་དྲན་པ་ལ་སེམས་ནག་ནོག་མ་མཆིས་པར་འགྱུར་བ་དང་།

11) [What quality should bodhisattvas perfect so] that when recollecting the buddhas, their minds do not become clouded.

 ཁམས་སྣ་ཚོགས་ལ་ཡང་འཇུག་ལ་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི་རྗེས་སུ་ཡང་འཇུག་པར་འགྱུར་བ་དང།

12) [What quality should bodhisattvas perfect so] they can engage with different types of beings and function harmoniously with them?

 ཞུ་བ་དང་།  སྤོབས་པའི་བསམ་པ་ལ་ཟིལ་གྱིས་ནོན་པར་མི་འགྱུར་བ་དང་།

13) [What quality should bodhisattvas perfect so] they are not overwhelmed by requests and pompous attitudes?

 སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་ཞིང་གི་བཀོད་པ་མཐའ་ཡས་པ་རབ་ཏུ་འཛིན་ཅིང་ཤེས་རབ་མ་ལུས་པར་འཐོབ་པར་འགྱུར་བ་དང།

14) [What quality should bodhisattvas perfect so] they can correctly apprehend the arrays of all the limitless buddhafields, and attain full sapience?

 སེམས་ཅན་རྣམས་ཡོངས་སུ་སྨིན་པར་བགྱིད་ལ་སེམས་ཅན་གྱི་འདུ་ཤེས་ལ་ཡང་མི་གནས་པར་འགྱུར་བ་དང་།  ཆོད་ཀྱང་སྟོན་ལ།་ དམིགས་པ་ལ་ཡང་མི་གནས་པ་དང་།

15) [What quality should bodhisattvas perfect so] they bring beings to spiritual maturity while not perceiving them as sentient beings, and when teaching the Dharma, not experience any objective references.

 མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་པ་ཡང་སྨྲ་ལ།  ཉེ་བར་ཞི་བ་གང་ཡང་མི་དམིགས་པར་འགྱུར་བ་དང་།

16) [What quality should bodhisattvas perfect so] they can speak about nirvana but not hold any concept of pacification.

 བྱང་ཆུབ་ཀྱི་ཕྱིར་ཡང་སྤྱོད་ལ་མི་གནས་པར་ཡང་འགྱུར་བ་དང། མཆིས་པ་དང་། མ་མཆིས་པ་ཡོངས་སྱ་སྤངས་ཀྱང་ རྒྱ་ཆེན་པོ་ལ་མོས་པར་འགྱུར་བར་བགྱིད་པ་དག

17) [What quality should bodhisattvas perfect so] their actions are for the benefit of awakening even though they have completely rejected doing and not doing and aspire to vastness? (DK: savvy in benefitting others but not caught in the act of benefitting others.)
